What benefits will your program receive from partnering with Teaching Artists International?

1. Highly-trained musicians and teachers help your program through rehearsals, lessons, performances, workshops, and more.

As your institutional partner, it is Teaching Artists International’s commitment to find and bring highly-trained musicians and educators to help strengthen your program. We work closely with your leadership to set goals and predetermine areas of improvement that we can accomplish together during our time with you. In addition to our fellows being highly-trained musicians, they are also culturally sensitive and responsive and have an interest in using their artistry for positive social change. Like you, we share a social mission: bridging cultures and building community.

Our TAI Fellows are chosen through a rigorous application process that includes a performance video, a teaching video, and a personal statement video discusses their interest in pursuing our fellowship and their thoughts about music and social justice. These video components are in addition to letters of recommendation and a full resume. Most fellows have already completed their undergraduate studies in music and/or music education and many have or are in the process of completing their master’s degrees in music and/or music education.

Our fellowship program is designed to help strengthen music programs—just like yours!— around the world while simultaneously providing intensive professional development experiences for our fellows. If you or your program is interested in becoming a TAI Stand Partner, please apply here.

2. We bring resources for your students and program: repertoire, customized recommendations, promotional materials, & more.

Part of our vision at Teaching Artists International is strengthening and support music education around the world; therefore, we make it a priority to prepare level-appropriate repertoire for your students during our visit, provide custom recommendations for your students and teachers, and give you complete access to all professional photos and video that we capture during our visit to your program.

We realize that finding level-appropriate repertoire is sometimes a challenge in addition to choosing method books and creating curriculum. We come ready with resources that will help your program be more effective in fulfilling its mission.

In addition to pedagogical resources, we want to help your program have access to high-quality, professional photos and videos of your students, teachers, and staff. As a Teaching Artists International partner, you will receive a file with edited photos and videos that you can use across all your social media platforms and website.

3. On-going support for your students and program.

As a partner with Teaching Artists International, your program will continue to receive ongoing support from our organization. We believe in deep and meaningful partnerships, so even though our visits may be short, our belief in your mission and working relationship doesn’t end when we go home. Ideally, we want to visit your program more than once and continue our conversations throughout the year. We offer advice and resources on curriculum building, teacher training, institutional partnerships, fundraising strategies, and community engagement.
